CNC Plasma
Cutting
High-definition CNC plasma cutting on plate up to 6" thick. Precision profiles, bolt holes, and complex shapes cut from your DXF files on our 10' x 40' cutting table. Fast turnaround, tight tolerances, no minimums.
What We Cut
From Sheet to Heavy Plate
We cut more than just sheet metal. Our plasma table handles heavy plate work that online cutting services cannot touch.
Precision Profiles
Complex 2D shapes, contours, and cutouts from your DXF or DWG files. Clean edges with minimal dross on high-definition plasma.
Bolt Hole Patterns
Precision bolt holes, slots, and mounting patterns cut in one setup. Eliminates drilling as a secondary operation.
Plate Blanks
Rectangular and shaped blanks cut from heavy plate for subsequent machining, forming, or welding operations.
Structural Components
Gussets, base plates, stiffeners, connection plates, and custom structural shapes. Ready for welding or bolt-up.
Nesting & Batch Cuts
We nest multiple parts per sheet to reduce waste and lower your per-part cost on volume orders.
Cut-Ready Files
Send us your DXF, DWG, or PDF drawings. We can also create cut files from sketches, samples, or verbal descriptions.

Why Texas Metal Works
More Than an
Online Cutting Service
Online plasma cutting services work fine for thin sheet metal. But when you need heavy plate cut, tight tolerances held, or follow-on fabrication after cutting, you need a real shop with real equipment and real people.
ISO 9001 Certified
American steel, American made
Heavy Plate Capability
We cut up to 6" thick plate. Most online services max out at 1/4" or 1/2". If your project calls for heavy steel, we handle it.
Full Fabrication After Cut
Need parts formed, welded, drilled, or powder coated after cutting? We do it all in-house. One PO, one vendor, one shipment.
10' x 40' Table
Large parts that do not fit on standard 5x10 tables are no problem. We cut parts up to 10 feet wide and 40 feet long in a single setup.
Material Sourcing
We source and stock common plate sizes. Send us a cut list and we will handle material procurement, cutting, and delivery as a package.
From File to Finished Parts
Getting parts cut is straightforward. Here is how it works.

FAQ
Common Questions
How much does CNC plasma cutting cost?
Pricing depends on material type, thickness, part complexity, and quantity. Simple rectangular cuts on thin plate start at a few dollars per part. Complex profiles on heavy plate cost more. We provide itemized quotes so you can see exactly what drives the price. No minimums on most work.
What is the thickest material you can plasma cut?
We cut up to 6" thick carbon steel plate on our CNC plasma table. For stainless steel, we cut up to 3" thick. Aluminum up to 1" thick. If your material falls outside these ranges, contact us and we can discuss alternatives like oxy-fuel cutting.
How accurate is CNC plasma cutting?
Our Hypertherm high-definition plasma system holds +/- 0.030" on standard cuts, with positioning accuracy of +/- 0.015". For tighter tolerances, we can machine critical features after cutting. Edge quality meets ISO 9013 Range 3.
What file format do I need to send?
DXF is ideal for 2D cut profiles. We also accept DWG, STEP, IGES, and PDF drawings. If you do not have CAD files, send us a sketch with dimensions or an existing part and we will create the cut files for you.
Can you source the material for me?
Yes. We stock common grades and thicknesses of carbon steel, stainless, and aluminum plate. For specialty materials, we can source and procure on your behalf. Just tell us what you need and we will quote it as a package.
Can you do follow-on work after cutting?
Absolutely. Most of our cutting jobs include some form of secondary work: forming, drilling, welding, grinding, or powder coating. That is the advantage of a full-service fab shop vs. an online cutting service.
