One of the great things about these chimeneas is that the design funnels all of the smoke upwards. Since the walls slope inwards, the rising heat accelerates to push the smoke overhead. At the same time, in order to keep the area safe and the fire where it belongs, we include a custom Spark Arrestor built into every unit.
The spark arrestor is comprised of three parts:
A base panel which is welded into the chimenea, with a threaded hole in the center.
A fine stainless steel mesh designed to capture embers.
A top panel to hold the mesh in place. This system allows for future replacement of the mesh to ensure longevity.
In addition to protecting the environment around the chimenea, we also designed these units to protect themselves by draining water when they are exposed to the elements. The fire shelf, and bottom panels fit tightly on two edges, while leaving a small gap on the other two edges to allow water to drain.
Of course, all of these features are hidden inside these fire pits in order to ensure they make for a truly magnificent sight!
