Weld Table Accessories FAQ
It depends on what you’re building, but here’s what every welder should start with.
Clamps (the essentials). You need a way to hold parts to the table. Our T-Handle Clamps ($29 each) are the workhorse. They insert into any 5/8″ hole and clamp down fast. For heavier work, the Ratchet Handle Clamps ($45) give you more force. Start with 10 of one type and you’ll have enough for most setups.
Fab squares. If you’re doing any right-angle work (which is most fabrication), you need at least one fab square. Our 25″ x 10″ is the team favorite ($240). It fixtures parts at 90 degrees and doubles as a backstop. The 10″ Super Square ($139) is a fully machined precision tool for 45 and 90 degree work.
Side clamps and stops. Side clamps ($24) insert into the table holes for low-profile clamping, locating, and stopping. They’re cheap enough to buy a handful and leave them staged on the table.
The easiest way to get started is one of our accessory packs. The Starter Pack ($999, normally $1,073 if bought separately) includes 10 clamps, stops, and basic fixturing tools. The Advanced Pack ($1,800) and Ultimate Pack ($4,000) scale up from there with more specialized tooling.
Our accessories are built for the 5/8″ (16mm) hole standard on 2″ centers. That’s the most common system in the industry, shared by most major manufacturers including Siegmund (System 16), StrongHand/BuildPro, CertiFlat, and others.
That said, “16mm” isn’t actually a universal standard. Every manufacturer picks a slightly different tolerance, and some tooling that claims to be 16mm won’t fit in another brand’s holes. We’ve written extensively about this problem.
Our pin diameter is 0.6275″ 0.001″ and our hole diameter is 0.630″ 0.001″. This gives consistent clearance and ensures our tooling fits our tables every time. In practice, our accessories fit most other manufacturers’ tables, and most other brands’ 16mm tooling fits our tables. But if you’re mixing brands, verify the actual pin diameter before buying a full set.
If you buy your table and accessories from us, compatibility is guaranteed.
Riser blocks lift your workpiece off the table surface, giving you clamping access from the sides and underneath. They’re one of the most versatile fixturing tools we make.
Our riser blocks come in sizes from 4″ x 4″ x 4″ ($90) up to 6″ x 6″ x 20″ ($219). Every face has holes on the same 5/8″ / 2″ pattern as the table, so you can clamp to any side. Stack them for extra height. Turn them on their side for horizontal clamping surfaces. Use them as end stops, backstops, or assembly fixtures.
The 4″ x 4″ x 8″ ($119) is our best seller. It’s tall enough to clear most workpieces, compact enough to not eat table space, and the four drilled faces give you clamping options in every direction.
If you’re doing any work where parts need to be elevated, clamped vertically, or fixtured at a specific height above the table, risers are essential.
A base shelf adds a full storage platform underneath your welding table, between the legs. It’s laser-cut with slots that lock into the table’s cross braces, so it’s solid and doesn’t rattle.
We make shelves for every table size, from 30×40 ($239) up to 70×140 ($620). The shelf panels have the same slot pattern as the rest of our system, so you can mount ModPro accessories, bins, and hooks to the shelf surface too.
Most customers use the base shelf for storing clamps, tooling, consumables, and materials that need to be within arm’s reach but off the table surface. It’s one of those accessories that doesn’t seem critical until you have it, then you wonder how you worked without it.
Base shelves add some weight to the table, which actually improves stability if you’re using casters. The extra mass keeps the table planted when you’re leaning into a heavy clamp or pushing on a workpiece.
Yes, and there are several ways to do it depending on what you need.
Base shelf. A base shelf ($239 to $620) mounts between the table legs and gives you a full lower storage platform. Best for heavier items, material stock, and tooling kits.
Drawer cabinets. Our suspended drawer cabinets hang from the table frame. Single drawer ($250), double ($489), or triple ($700). CNC-cut with soft-close slides. Best for small tools, consumables, and anything you want locked away.
ModPro table panels. Our ModPro system includes table panels that bolt between the table legs for hook and bin storage right at your workspace. Five sizes from 30″ to 70″ ($69 to $109). Mount hooks for grinders, bins for consumables, and tool holders for clamps.
Table extensions. Not storage exactly, but table extensions ($340 to $697) bolt to the sidewalls and expand your work surface. More surface means less stuff on the floor.
Removable top covers. Our removable covers ($150 to $500) turn a fixture table into a solid-surface workstation. Lay them over the holes when you need a flat surface for layout, assembly, or as a parts staging area.
Everything is designed to work together and mounts using the existing laser-cut holes on the table. No drilling, no modification.
Depends on what you’re doing, but here’s what our team reaches for every day.
For general fabrication: T-Handle Clamps (fast, reliable, $29 each), a 25″ x 10″ fab square ($240), and a handful of side clamps ($24 each). This combo handles 80% of typical fab work.
For production/repetitive work: Ratchet Handle Clamps ($45 each) for faster clamping cycles, riser blocks for consistent height positioning, and V-blocks ($16.50) for round stock. The time savings on setup pay for the tooling within the first week.
For schools and training: Our Student Edition Pack ($1,628) or Instructor Edition Pack ($3,000) come pre-configured with everything a welding lab needs. These are designed for CTE programs where you need consistent tooling across every station.
For expanding your setup: Table extensions add surface area. Base shelves add storage underneath. And ModPro panels add organization to the table legs and surrounding walls.
If you’re just getting started, the Starter Accessory Pack ($999) is the best value. It’s a curated set of the essentials at a bundled price.
Table extensions bolt to the sidewalls of your welding table and add more work surface. They’re the fastest way to increase your table size without buying a second table.
We make extensions in 10″ and 20″ depths for every table width (30″ through 70″), priced from $340 to $697. The extensions use the same 5/8″ hole pattern and sidewall design as the main table, so all your fixturing accessories work on the extension surface too.
A few examples of what customers do with them: add a 20″ extension to a 50×50 to make it a 50×70. Double up two 20″ extensions on a 60×100 to make it a 60×140. Mount a vise to an extension so it’s off the main work surface.
Extensions are Gen 2 compatible, meaning they fit our current-production tables. If you have an older Gen 1 table, reach out and we’ll confirm compatibility.
Our removable top covers are 10-gauge steel panels that lay flat over the fixture holes on your welding table, converting it into a solid-surface workstation.
They’re available for every table size from 30×30 ($150) to 60×100 ($500). Each cover set is made up of panels that drop into place and lift off when you need the fixture holes back. No hardware, no clamping. Just set them down and you’ve got a clean flat surface.
People use them for layout work, parts staging, assembly where you don’t want small parts falling through holes, and as a clean grinding surface. Some shops keep covers on half the table for a dedicated flat workspace and leave the other half open for fixturing. They’re also popular in school labs where students need a flat surface for classroom demonstrations before moving to fixture work.
