If you want to see all the raw testing, here’s the video that covers all of these tools!
The Tools
We bought ALL the cheap import tools that use 20V DeWALT batteries so you don’t have to! And we put them to the test, so here are the results…
Cordless LED Work Light for DeWALT 20v Battery, 6000 Lumens – $26.99
This LED light has a 4.4 with 84 ratings, but ranks an “F” from Fakespot for having what appear to be fake reviews! We hate it when companies fake their reviews, especially when it’s actually a great product and doesn’t need to cheat!
We were blown away at how bright this light is, and plan to actually purchase more for the shop! So you can ignore the bad Fakespot rating and just get one.
Bottom Line: Thumbs UP! Recommended.
350W Power Inverter for DeWALT Battery, 120V Pure Sine Wave – $109.95
First of all, they show a photo of someone plasma cutting by using this inverter. There’s NO WAY that’s gonna work! And although the product has a 4.4 with 67 ratings, it’s got an “F” from Fakespot, plus the seller has a caution!
Having said that, we were able to power a TV off a single battery, and we were able to mix different battery sizes, with different states of charge, and it just worked. So for a fraction of the price of a DeWALT inverter, this sucker is a good deal.
Bottom Line: Thumbs UP! Recommended.
Hot Glue Gun, Cordless Glue Gun, Full Size Hot Glue Gun for DeWALT 20V – $26.99
This glue gun has a 4.0 rating with 59 reviews and an “A” from Fakespot. Seems legit considering John P. actually liked the glue gun, once he gave it time to heat up.
Bottom Line: Thumbs UP! Recommended.
LED Work Light for DeWALT 20V Battery, 72W 7200LM Shop Light – $26.99
Ok, for $26.99 this little light is entirely worth it. However, you can’t trust the 4.6 rating from 106 reviewers according to Fakespot. SO MANY COMPANIES CHEAT ON THE RATINGS!!!
Now they claim this light puts out 7200 lumens, and we absolutely aren’t buying that! Maybe like 1,000… 2,000 if we’re pushing it. But still, this is a good light, so take it with a grain of salt.
Bottom Line: Thumbs UP! Recommended.
Cordless Tire Inflator Air Compressor for DeWALT 20V Max Battery – $48.99 (25% Coupon)
Sure, it’s got a 4.2 rating with 272 reviews. But Fakespot gives it a “D”.
Still! We tested it, and it performed admirably! For less than $40, this compressor is a bargain!
Bottom Line: Thumbs UP! Recommended.
IRONFIST Tire Inflator for DEWALT Battery – $23.99
A 4.1 rating with 454 reviewers is decent, but we’re thinking this might should be higher. In our testing this little inflator performed admirably. And at $24 it’s a great deal!
Bottom Line: Thumbs UP! Recommended.
Cordless Impact Wrench 1/2 inch for Dewalt Battery, 900FT-LBS = $109
Another 4.5 rating with a “D” according to Fakespot, this time with 264 ratings. However, even though they are cheating on the reviews, we found this impact gun had plenty of power and worked quite well.
If you don’t want to spring for the DeWALT version at like triple the cost, this will definitely work in a pinch.
Bottom Line: Thumbs UP! Recommended.
Portable Transfer Pump For DeWALT 20V Max Battery, 635GPH, 120W – $37.83
Got a 3.9 with 48 ratings, and a “D” from Fakespot for some of those reviews being super sketch. No matter, this sucker WILL PUMP WATER! John P. got totally soaked in seconds just being an idiot. But it proves that the pump can put out a lot of volume.
Keep in mind you’re going to need to get a 1/2″, 3/4″ or 1″ hose to use with it. But otherwise, it was the most fun we had!
Bottom Line: Thumbs UP! Recommended.
Cordless Soldering Iron Kit for DeWALT – $31.99
John clearly didn’t have any love for this little gun, but the 201 ratings with a 3.9 and a relatively clean Fakespot rating may say otherwise. If you ACTUALLY know how to use a soldering iron, maybe it’ll work for you. At $32 there’s not much risk in trying.
Bottom Line: No comment. John P. can’t solder…
Taingwei Portable Fan with Remote for DeWALT 20v 60v Battery – $39.99
Despite the 4.6 star rating, we found the fan to be too weak (even on the high setting) to offer much relief at all. This may explain why Fakespot gives these Amazon reviews a “D” rating, and claims:
“Our engine has profiled the reviewer patterns and has determined that there is high deception involved.”
Bottom Line: Thumbs Down. Do not recommend.
Cordless Reciprocating Saw for DeWALT 20V – $49.99
Considering that DeWALT’s reciprocating saw is $150, a sub-$50 option is great. But again we run into a 4.2 with 214 ratings and an F on Fakespot. Why everyone has to cheat on their reviews… we don’t know!
Not only is this thing less than $50, but it comes with multiple blades right in the box to get you started, and a simple quick twist for mounting them.
Bottom Line: Thumbs UP! Recommended.
