Version 2 Product Update!
Our 30×48 (Version 2) Weld Table DIY Kit comes in a 3/16″ top with 5/8″ holes spaced 4″ apart – That’s 96 holes for flexible fixturing in its 8 x 12 hole grid pattern. Of course, these tables completely bolt together which means NO WELDING! We know that’s kinda crazy for a welding table.
We continue to build more accessories for this unique table and we’ve even laser-cut holes in the legs for mounting accessories and fixtures.
Our 30″ x 48″ (actual size 29.5″ x 47.5″ for shipping purposes!) welding table top is the perfect solution for portable welding or confined spaces. Laser cut from 3/16″ A36 steel plate, this top comes professionally assembled and ready to put to use! The surface height of this table is 36″ when you choose the option with legs.
This kit includes the same standard 5/8″ holes as all of our welding tables, meaning you can use a wide range of fixturing accessories. 5/16″ nuts and bolts fit perfectly for any reason you can come up with.
A Note About Flatness
These little welding carts are pretty darn flat! However, no table in the world is going to be perfectly flat without either having a whole lot of mass (say a solid block), or a serious support infrastructure. Since these tops have a 2″ rib infrastructure they are VERY strong, and the ribs help to flatten out the top, however since they lack sidewalls to support the edges that is where you may see some drop off in flatness. We’re not saying that these tables are all wavy and crooked! But you could see some variance from edge to edge… maybe 1/16″-1/8″. But if you compare this to our heavy duty tables, they are generally flat to the tune of hundredths of an inch, owing to their much heavier duty build.
What you do get from this table is extreme light weight combined with rugged build quality and a high degree of versatility – and at a price that no one else can match with anything even close. However, if you really want SUPER flat, and CRAZY strong, we recommend you take a look at the Heavy Duty 30×40 table. With it’s 6″ rib infrastructure and sidewalls it’s much flatter and heavier. And you can always add table extensions to grow it as needed. It’ll cost about $400 more, but everything about it is an upgrade. And if you add the sidewall adapters to the 30″x48″ there is even less price difference. Just something to consider. 😉

Built Like a Tank
Not that we recommend it, but to demonstrate the flexibility of these little tables, we put one of our giant 50″ x 100″ tables (~1,000 pounds) on top and rolled it around with no problem! So you can rest assured it will handle just about any normal task you can throw at it.
Packaging and Shipment
Important Note: We’ve seen a major rate of deliveries arriving damaged when shipped through UPS. While we custom-built this table to ship via UPS/FedEx, we’re changing our delivery mode to LTL carrier. Moving forward, the table will be palletized to protect the table and accessories. For customers with a forklift, this should have little impact. For those without a forklift, there will be a minor charge for “liftgate services” (to drop the pallet to the ground) — you’ll see the upgrade option when ordering the table.

My first table arrived damaged by the shipper. Called Kirk. No hassle, no wait, no problem. A new one was on the way the next day with plans on getting the 1st one back to them.
New one arrived in 2-3 days! All parts necessary to complete are there and ready to weld up.
This is a great table for the hobby welder or small fabricator. Sturdy, has standard holes on 4″ centers. Doesn’t take up a ton of room ion your shop.
May buy another to use as a chop saw table / extension to tie together to make a bigger table.
Can’t say enough good about Texas metal. You guys have my permission to share my info if someone has more questions.

The table is not quite fully assembled you will have to weld the leg braces on, thankfully you have a or should have a welder. Overall I am very satisfied with the quality of the table and how fast and easy it was to assemble. I looked at 3 other tables within $300 -$500+ and i think this a a great table for the home welder or small shop. I would consider a bigger table if I had the room. Thank you Texas Metal Works for providing a quality work surface. I know I will get some good years of service out of this product, it was well worth the investment. Full disclosure I have already purchased table accessories and have built metal and wood projects on this unit. Thank you again TMW!!!

Got my 30×48 table a few weeks ago and it’s such a great quality piece for something so easy on the budget. The guys stayed a little late at the shop that day and helped me load it up, as well as wrap it to keep the rain off the fresh steel, due to me having to drive home in the rain. Got my table late yesterday and put it together today. I really took time to make sure everything was square and true, and got all the accessories welded on. The only thing that I could complain about was that one corner on the table was slightly bent in shipping. Not TMW’s fault!
